Magnolia Market

One of my favorite shows lately is Fixer Upper on HGTV, and if you're a fan of the show,  you probably understand where I'm coming from.  Not only are the home transformations nothing short of incredible, but Chip + Joanna {along with their kids} are adorable to watch.  They make me want to live in a farmhouse... or at least make my own house resemble one.

Lucky for us, Austin is only a one hour drive south of Waco, where The Gaines family lives, runs their boutique + films their show.  When my friend Tessa was in town visiting, she {another fan of Fixer Upper} suggested we take a drive up to check out their retail shop, Magnolia Market, and I'm so glad we did.

Even on a Monday, the shop was quite crowded with visitors wanting their pictures taken in front of the Magnolia storefront that is featured on the show {see similar photo of us being tourists below}.  Everything inside the store is exactly Joanna's "farmhouse chic" style, and I could have probably wandered around, looking at things for a couple hours, even though the space isn't large at all.  They have all kinds of little treasures - even some gorgeous handmade jewelry that Tessa + I were so close to purchasing.  The only thing stopping us was the price tag.  They were a bit on the pricey side.  But a lot of the home décor items weren't too expensive - I even ended up getting a metal "laundry" sign for my laundry room {that needs a lot of love}.

I don't believe they had any out on a table, but if you ask one of the sweet sales girls at Magnolia, they will give you a little map of Waco that shows you where each of Joanna's "favorite spots" is located.  This was great, because we wanted to go find a few more places, but didn't know exactly where they were located - particularly Harp Design Co., which is Clint Harp's new furniture and home accessory store {Clint is Joanna's carpenter who makes awesome custom pieces for her clients' homes}.  The best part about visiting Harp Design is that it sits right next door to the amazing "fixer upper" that Joanna and Chip did for Clint's family in one of the show's episodes.

Another stop we had to make was at the Silos, the newest location for Magnolia Market.  The buildings are so cool and rustic looking, and they are currently under construction, set to open up in the next couple of months.  I can't wait to make another trip up to check out their new gigantic space!

P.S. If you haven't checked out Fixer Upper on HGTV, you MUST!

Hope you are all having a great week so far!
