I'm in love with this place and just had to share! Maybe it was the adorable décor or the fact that Matt and I had just gotten off a plane from Chicago and were absolutely starving {we were in a hurry getting to the airport, there was a huge line to get through security, and we missed our chance at getting a breakfast}. After landing back in ATX, we immediately drove through the east side, looking for some restaurant that we heard had breakfast tacos. We ended up finding the place closed, and instead, decided to try out Cenote, another breakfast joint / coffee house that I head heard good things about. And I'm so glad we did!
Tucked away on the east side of downtown Austin {one of my favorite places for food}, in an old, renovated house {as most businesses are in this area}, sits Cenote - a yes, slightly hipster, café with some serious coffee, whimsical décor, and one delicious breakfast. My apple cinnamon pancakes with cinnamon butter were so fresh. It wasn't overly sweet, and the apples on top tasted like they literally were just picked off a tree and baked. We couldn't have picked a better spot on this gorgeous Sunday morning to relax after a whirlwind weekend in Chicago. I've honestly been wanting to go back again and again, but with so many other amazing breakfast spots in Austin, I've had to practice self-control.
